Safe refueling

The international community observes World AIDS Day every year on 1 December. On this day, we held a social event at Triple gas stations in an unexpected location supported by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). The purpose of the action is to draw attention to people who may be infected but don't know about it.

We compared unprotected sex with casual partners to a situation at a gas station where the same gun is inserted into the fuel tanks of different cars. This graphic illustration served as the basis for an information leaflet that we placed directly on fuel pistols accompanied by intriguing text and explanatory information. Every motorist on that day could get a free express test at a gas station and within 15 minutes find out their HIV status.

During the campaign more than six hundred tests were distributed at gas stations. Large information internet portals and city websites wrote about this unusual action. We found an unusual and illustrative way to talk about the importance of the problem and convey a simple message: "Before you insert, think about your safety and the safety of your loved ones.
